Trigger
Trigger was a 3 year old male yellow lab companion animal. He presented very painful during his observations at the clinic but neurologically in good shape. Even on many oral medications and a fentanyl infusion, his pain was intractable.
Trigger underwent surgery to stabilize L7-S1. Immediately after placement of the ArteMedics 4.5 x 30 mm ArcasUltra screws wit rods, the lumbosacral space opened up significantly. During the procedure, there were challenges with the L7 vertebrae (congenital defects within the bone) when screws were being placed, so the veterinarian was able to loosen and remove one of the screws and place it at L6. This type of modification would not have been possible with pins/PMMA fixation.
Trigger was much more comfortable upon recovery and returned to his silly and energetic self once he fully recovered! Trigger lived pain-free for the rest of his life (7 more years!)

Bradley
Bradley was a 5 year old, 21 kg American Bulldog who suffered a spinal subluxation while playing in a park.
Bradley was in severe pain after his injury and had difficulty moving; he was in need of spinal surgery to repair the damage to his spine.
Bradley’s veterinary staff used ArteMedics polyaxial screws (3.5 x 25 mm) and rods to stabilize his L2-L3 vertebrae. The surgery was very successful and Bradley recovered with no complications! Bradley is back to rolling in mud, going for hikes, and playing with friends.
Bradley underwent his spinal repair 6 years ago and is now 11 years old and still going for hikes with his family. He remains pain free!
